Frequently asked questions
Q: Is my order shipped with "Hair Growth Specialist" mentioned as return address? Is the product visible from outside the packaging?
A: No, your order is shipped very discretely. Our packages are wrapped in a brown cardboard box. For logistical reasons, we do mention "HGS" as sender, including our address details. However, nobody can tell from looking at the package that it contains a hair product or that it is sent by The Hair Growth Specialist.
Q: I paid via bank transfer, has my payment been received yet?
A: It can take up to several business days for your bank to process your payment. When your payment is received by us, you will receive an email with the payment confirmation. Next, your order will be prepared and shipped when ready.
Changing the order
Q: I have placed an order, but I accidentally ordered the wrong product.
A: This is no problem, you can change your order as long as it has not been processed yet. If you wish to order less or more, we will adjust this. Just let us know your wishes. The overpayment will be transferred to your bank account. In case you are ordering more, we will ask you to make an additional payment.
Q: When ordering products, I see the term 'quantity discount', what does this mean?
A: In addition to our fixed competitive prices, we also offer discounts for orders of 2 or more products. We call this 'quantity discount'. Read more about our quantity discount when ordering 2 or more products.
Q: I find it difficult to determine which products are best suitable for me. How do I find out?
A: In case it is not clear to you which products you can best use or you would like to receive more information, you are free to send an email with your questions to our customer service. In order to be able to determine which products are best for you, you should provide us with the following information:
- Your sex
- Type of hair loss (e.g. diffuse, male pattern baldness)
- Which product you prefer and which you would rather not use
Based on this information, we can provide you with advice. However, we always recommend you to also contact a doctor or dermatologist.
Combination of treatment methods
Q: Can I combine product X with product Y?
A: Almost all products can be used in combination in one regime, but this is not always a guarantee for increased effectiveness of your hair growth. We recommend people to use a maximum of one product from the following categories:
- Topical lotion
- Derma/Scalp roller
- Laser treatment
Q: Can I combine shampoo brand X with conditioner brand Y?
A: Shampoos and conditioners by the same brand are usually well matched in terms of ingredients and provide optimal treatment. However, it is certainly possible to use a shampoo of one brand and combine it with a conditioner of a different brand.
Pregnancy / Breastfeeding
Q: Can I use your products during pregnancy/breastfeeding?
A: We do not recommend using our hair loss products when you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Many products have a slight and/or local influence on the hormonal balance. This is because many products contain ingredients that inhibit the hormone DHT, which is important for hereditary hair loss. Legally speaking, products must be proven safe for the (unborn) baby to use. These are difficult and costly tests, which means that they are hardly ever done. The chance of something happening as a result of using the products is probably small, and it is not always mentioned as a warning on the packaging, but any negative consequences can be large.
After giving birth, you can start using our products, unless you are breastfeeding, in which case our products should not be used either.
During breastfeeding/pregnancy you can use MSM powder. This is a form of sulphur and is an essential component of our skin, connective tissue, hair, joints and nails. It has no effect on hormones.
